Idyllic Aitutaki Island with its magnificent coral lagoon, has a special sense of magic and tranquillity. So it is hardly surprising that Aitutaki is the second-most visited island in the Cook Islands. With crystal clear turquoise waters and dazzling white sand beaches, water activities such as snorkelling trips, lagoon cruises and fishing are a highlight of any Aitutaki holiday. This island is not meant for those looking for beaches in the day and an urban party scene at night, but Aitutkai's main village, Arutanga, on the west coast does feature a collection of shops, a post office and a small wharf.
