Traditional smiles, hospitality, untouched villages and the rural fragrance of Ceylon all packed into a three hour walk.
Launched at day break, the hot air balloon rides take you on amazing views over rural Sri Lanka while you enjoy a bird’s eye view of the villagers waking up, lush green surroundings, the stillness of endless paddy fields, and at a distance - the silhouette of the 8th wonder of the world - the Sigiriya fortress
Sigiriya is a rock fortress, an ancient palace built by King Kasyapa , surrounded by the remains of an extensive network of gardens, reservoirs, and other structures. The unique irrigation system and architectural wisdom evidenced through the Sigiriya rock fortress continues to awe inspire many archaeologist to this day.
Sigiriya is also renowned for its ancient paintings (frescos), which are reminiscent of the Ajanta Caves of India. It is one of the eight World Heritage Sites of Sri Lanka and is also the eighth wonder of the world.
Among many water birds, reptiles and monkeys, Minneriya is home to the largest congregation of elephants in the wild during the mid-year drought. Considered to be one of the largest gatherings of Asian elephants in the world, this amazing wildlife mega event is now tagged by ‘Lonely Planet’ as the 6th greatest wildlife spectacle in the world.
