Bagan Thande Hotel is one of the best hotels in Ancient Bagan City area with the most reasonable prices. One main building (two storey building) and twenty-four chalet type bungalows are at your disposal. This two storey building was built in 1922, for the then Prince of Wales of Britain when he visited Bagan. It's the only and prominent colonial era building in Ancient Bagan City. One Ayeyarwaddy River Suite, Two Prince of Wales Suites, 44 Deluxe rooms, 20 Superior rooms and 11 Economy rooms are our accommodation strength and all rooms are spacious and furnished meticulously with teakwood, fine fabrics and traditional handcrafts, come equipped with modern amenities. One Suite Room & Deluxe type rooms are over looking the Ayeyawaddy River and the rest are facing pagodas, birds' sanctuary garden and swimming pool.

In 1992, during the visit of Edward, the prince of Wales and the son of King George V of the United Kingdom, a government boarding house was built and named "Thande" to accommodate the Prince. You can still find the original building, being named as "Princess of Wales Suite" nowadays, in our hotel compound which is a two-storied wooden building.
