The Marquesas, or Henua Enata meaning "Land of Men", are a group of ‘high islands’, known for their spire-like green peaks rising from the deep indigo Pacific ocean.   Just 1500 km from Tahiti, Nuku Hiva is a mystic island where natural wonders abound such as 1000-foot waterfalls cascade down sheer volcanic cliffs, or towering mountains disappearing mysteriously in the clouds.

Accomodation

There are 20 guestrooms at Nuku Hiva Keikahanui Pearl Lodge. Guestrooms are all accessible via exterior corridors. Guestrooms have balconies. Furnishings include desks and sofa beds. 

Dining

You can enjoy breakfast surrounded by luscious tropical foliage and candlelit dinners under the stars. The restaurant and bar open onto the terrace and the pool.

Le Pua Enana

Le Pua Enana features French cuisine with Marquesan influences. With wide stretching panoramic views of the bay, the restaurant offers a well selected international wine list along with local fish and seafood, meat, poultry, and fresh produce.

The Tiki Bar

The Tiki Bar offers a wide selection of cocktails featuring fresh fruits bringing together the tastes of the islands and is a great place to unwind in paradise.

Recreation

Explore the culture of the Marquesas with organized excursions to share, understand and appreciate the beauty of Nuku Hiva. Hike, walk or bicycle in the spectacular landscape, horseback ride through the coconut groves arriving at a plateau with breathtaking views, discover the fascinating archaeological sites, take a four wheel drive photo safari tour into the interiors of the lush mountains and valleys or take a day trip by boat to the beautiful Hakaui Valley with the highest waterfall of French Polynesia.

Hatiheu Valley Excursion

Situated on the southern side of the island. Excursion by boat to Hakatea bay followed by a hike through forest, archaeological sites, and basalt cliffs to the famous Hakaui waterfall (350 m). Picnic lunch included.

Tehaa Tiki Excursion

Hiking on the ridges, Caldera of Taiohae and Nuku Hiva South Coast views (5h30).

AAKAPA & HATIHEU Peaks and Cliffs

View on North East of the Island, bird watching (6h).

The Big Z Ridge

To the Temokomoko Point (Views on Toovi, Terre Deserte, Hakaui and the Hidden Valley) 6h.
