Situated in one of two locations depending on the time of year, this traditional tented bush camp promises an authentic and rewarding East African safari experience. Serian Camp is positioned south-west of Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) from December until April, where it borders the short-grass plains of the southern Serengeti within fairly easy reach of the Ngorongoro Crater.

Accomodation

Serian is a traditional bush camp that has a grand colonial feel. Safari accommodation is offered in 7 marquee style tents that have open sides. They are elegantly furnished with spacious double beds and have a strategically placed writing desk. The en-suite bathrooms have a rustic air to them with a shower, deep bath tub and twin basins.

Rooms

Standard Tents

Serian Camp comprises eight classic Meru-style tents featuring soft double beds, flush toilets and hot showers. Swathes of cotton and canvas walls provide complete privacy while the velvet sofas and rugs that cover the floor give your tent a feeling of plush grandness. Solar-powered electricity is available 24 hours a day. For an even wilder camping experience, Serian Camp offers fly camping in a simple dome tent set up remotely in the bush which is equipped with short-drop toilet and bucket shower.

Dining

Serian Camp specialises in fresh farmhouse cuisine, made from locally sourced ingredients. Picnic lunches are often enjoyed at the 4x4 while observing the wildlife, whereas dinner is a more formal affair taken either in the mess tent or alfresco under the star-studded skies – an irrefutable highlight of the Serian experience. The chef’s menu is highly adaptable to suit the specific tastes and dietary needs of guests, and private in-suite dining can easily be arranged.
