The Governor's Residence is one of the most luxurious addresses in Yangon (formerly Rangoon). Built in 1920, The Governor's Residence is housed in a two-storey mansion that was built for one of the Governor's from Burma's southern states. With verandas overlooking the lush lotus gardens and pools, this is a peaceful home in the middle of Yangon.
Accomodation
The Governor's Residence is home to 45 rooms and 3 suites, all decorated with teak furniture and tropical cottons and silks. We recommend the Deluxe Garden view rooms looking onto the lotus garden and pool or the newly renovated Governor's Rooms which are larger and beautifully appointed with colonial, antique furnishings. The two Junior Suites are larger still and the Two-Bedroom Suite is ideal for families as there are no connecting options at the hotel.
