Dining

As you may already be aware, the culture of Thailand places great importance on food and the enjoyment of it. Eating is viewed as an integral part of social life.

Our menu here has been specially designed to give you the opportunity to experience the Thai style of eating and sharing food. Much like with Tapas in Spanish culture, the size of our portions allows you to taste many different preparations in one sitting.

You may notice that Thais are always dining in groups with their family and friends. A variety of prepared items is placed in the center of the table and shared 'family style', with everyone relishing small bites of their favorite dishes.

Pum Pui Restaurant

As a Thai kitchen uses a large variety of flavors and ingredients, we have separated the menu into five different main tastes, all of which work together to create a full Thai meal experience. A complete Thai menu would typically contain a rather spicy item, a plate with a sweet palate, a salty plate, a sour dish for refreshment, and a less spicy preparation to neutralize the palate.

The portions are not large in order for you to taste the different dishes, so we recommend that you order 2-3 items per person best one of each taste..

Bon appetite - or as they say in Thai: 'than a-han hai aroy'!

Gecko Bar

Our Gecko Bar, where you can enjoy light snacks, juices and creative cocktails. Overlooking the pool, gardens and beach, this is the ideal spot to take a break from the sun or to take a pre or post dinner drink.

Big Tree

Our Big Tree Terrace, fitted into an old frangipangi tree, just steps from the beach, offers spectacular views under the stars while eating BBQ dinners. Weather permitting come relax and enjoy the breathtaking colours of the sunset with the sound of the waves as background music. The ambiance is understated, yet romantic.

We take pride in offering seafood caught daily by our local fishermen from the island and not from farms.

Private Island Dinner

Or why not let us take you to the small Island of Koh Nok, about 15 minutes from our resort by traditional longtail. Here you can enjoy a romantic sunset and beach walk while we prepare a private barbeque for you with ingredients tailored to your taste. A truly unforgettable experience!

Recreation

While the peace and tranquility of our guests is our priority, many prefer to relax, read or write, we also offer a number of unobtrusive activities at the KOYAO Island Resort.

Koyao Island Resort Spa

During your stay we invite you to the world of total peace and tranquillity in the Koyao Island Resort Spa. Our in-house facility provides you with all the therapies to relax your mind, body and spirit. An hour or so in our spa will have you walking on air and feeling years younger.

Our Spa offers the ultimate in relaxation and wellness in a stunning tropical setting. We have 2 separate, air conditioned, treatment rooms, each equipped with two massage beds.

These treatment rooms were designed in the classical, Southern Thai style. The Spa also offers an outdoor Sala. Our team of experienced therapists offer a lasting sensation of well-being for your ultimate holiday experience.

Swimming Pool

Our infinity pool offers spectacular views over the Andaman Sea and the scenic Pakoh Islands.

Yoga

Yoga deeply relaxes the body, mind and soul. The stretching and breathing induce a sense of balance and calm. We offer free yoga classes twice per week and private classes may be booked through the spa.

Mountain Biking

Koh Yao Noi offers mountain biking opportunities for adventurous travellers as well as experienced cyclists. No real mountain biking experience is required, and you can choose from a variety of itineraries that range from very mild to rather wild, or a more laid-back, relaxed mountain biking trip that involves a mixture of back-road and off-road sections.

Kayaking

We provide muscle-powered sea kayaks. Sea kayaking is an excellent natural approach to visit the uninhabited Islands and the largely untouched bays nearby our Resort. Hidden in the Islands are numerous caves, tunnels and lagoons, better known as ‘hongs’ (Thai for room). There is a good chance to see wildlife by this silent approach. We recommend that you bring drinking water, sun cream, sun glasses, a hat and a light, long sleeved shirt.

Library

Our book exchange library houses a wide selection of books ranging from novels and travel guides to coffee table books about Southeast Asia.

Batik Painting

From the humble beginning of serving as wonderful apparel, Batik, has found its way to the wall of many homes and offices and recent years. Its popularity has gain momentum for each individual. The art of Batik centres the mind and liberates the heart though creativity. Explore the simple and exciting process of Batik painting. It will enable you to create a rewarding piece of art to bring home as a souvernir from Thailand. We offer classes by our talented ladies to create contemporary designs or your own masterpiece.

Diving

Koh Yao is the perfect starting point to explore the surrounding Phang Nga Bay and its interesting diving sites.

Phang-Nga province encompasses some excellent islands and offers visitors some good diving and snorkeling opportunities in Thailand. The marine life and reefs in this area are quite impressive and make for a rewarding underwater adventure!

Muay Thai

Muay Thai, translated into English as Thai Boxing, is the national sport of Thailand and is a martial art with origins in the ancient battlefield tactics of the Siamese army. It evolved from Krabi-Krabong, literally sword and baton, the hand-to-hand tactics of the Thai army.

The early Muay Thai bouts pitted different companies within the Siamese army against each other with few rules and no weight divisions or time limits. They became quite popular and eventually were shown in stadiums across the country. In the early 20th century, time limits, boxing gloves as well as a uniform set of rules were introduced.

Beach

All year round, calm and inviting waters enclose the Resort’s private beach. Sheltered under a palm trees, an afternoon siesta becomes a lazy must.

You might also like to do some romantic beach hopping or snorkeling among coral reefs on the lonely neighboring islands. Thailand’s vibrant corals and colorful fish draw divers from all over the world. Phang Nga bay’s water are not always clear but a short boat journey to the South bring you to crystal clear waters.

Relaxing and beautiful but not the luxury I was expecting
This was the most expensive accommodation of our trip and we stayed at some fancy places and I have to say I was disappointed. The whole place just looked a but tired -like they haven’t quite...
